50th Anniversary Texas International Pop Festival (UPDATED)

Aug 31, 2019 - Aug 31, 2019

UPDATE: Grand Funk Railroad will not be performing due to Hurricane Dorian.
Labor Day weekend 1969, Lewisville was the location of one of the largest music events Texas had ever seen. The event drew more than 120,000 music fans for three days of live entertainment from top names including Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Santana, Sly & the Family Stone, Canned Heat, Chicago Transit Authority (later Chicago), B.B. King and more.

Now, 50 years later, the City of Lewisville is recreating the festival with a two-day event planned for Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at Lewisville Lake Park. Headliners for the two-day event are ZZ Top on Saturday and Chicago on Sunday. Also scheduled to perform are Edgar Winter, the Box Tops, Grand Funk Railroad, Sarah Jaffe, Jonathan Tyler & Northern Lights, Shemekia Copeland and many more.
