A traditional Cinco de Mayo fiesta takes place at the landmark park that was once the center of Mexican-American activities in the area known as Little Mexico. Enjoy cultural performances and community groups and vendors.
At 11 a.m., the City of Dallas will unveil a new sign for the Santos Rodriguez Center at Pike Park. The renaming of the historic rec center honors the memory of Santos Rodriguez, a 12-year-old Mexican-American boy who was fatally shot by a Dallas police officer nearly 46 years ago.
The festival is presented by the City of Dallas in conjunction with the Dallas Mexican American Historical League.
