The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord at Addison Theatre Centre
Nancy Churnin Recommends
It's hard to keep up with the formidable individual intellects of Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens or Leo Tolstoy. Which makes it fun to see them spar with each other about the meaning of this world and the next. Playwright Scott Carter, best known as executive producer of HBO's 'Real Time with Bill Maher' offers a smart and searching theatrical journey in this regional premiere. As with the three flawed characters in Jean Paul Sartre's 'No Exit,' they're trapped in a purgatory-like room. But while each have sins to confess, they also bring important ideas about ethics and faith, with each having something to teach as well as learn.
