America is in the thick of election season and if there's been one company that seems to be riding the wave of a politically tumultuous year it's Anheusuer-Busch.
In May, the Belgium-based company announced it would be rebranding Budweiser beer as "America" -- yes, this has really happened -- and this month comes word Bud Light will throw a convention of its own.
The Bud Light Party Convention is a 13-city tour featuring some of the biggest names from pop music, including Nelly, Lil Wayne, Dillon Francis and Young the Giant. Dallas hosts the "convention" on Aug. 11 with performances from pop star Jason Derulo and country singer Brett Eldredge, and an appearance by The Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher at
a yet-to-be-disclosed location Klyde Warren Park.
"The Bud Light Party stands for uniting all people and nothing does that better than a summer full of fun, good music and Bud Light," said Alex Lambrecht, vice president of Bud Light in a statement.
As you may recall, the Bud Light Party got its start during the most recent Super Bowl when comedians Amy Schumer and Seth Rogan starred in a commercial for the beer (and made fans and craft drinkers country-wide cringe).
[UPDATE July 25 at 3:40 p.m.: If you're hoping to attend the Aug. 11 concert, your chance to score free tickets starts this week. Bud Light is hosting a series of "pub primaries" July 25 through Aug. 5 at various locations in D-FW where attendees will be asked to vote for one of three charities to receive a donation and be able to register for a free ticket to the concert.
Here's the schedule:
- July 25: Katy Trail Ice House
- July 26: Nodding Donkey
- July 27: Clutch
- July 28: Addison Ice House

And in case you're still thirsty, here are eight other beers we suggest you drink this summer that are not Bud Light.
