Check out this glitter-covered Whataburger parade float, made by a Dallas guy

This is Texas, so you've likely seen more than your fair share of Whataburger things. From tattoos to poems to proms, the Lone Star State's beloved burger joint has been celebrated in a wide variety of ways.

Add a large, glitter-covered parade float to the list.

Whataburger sponsored a float for the Battle of Flowers Parade during Fiesta San Antonio, which happened on April 23. It was built by Dallas-based company Lone Star Parade Floats, and the creation was a circus -- literally. The float has a circus theme, complete with animals carved out of 8 ft. tall blocks of foam. "You have to whittle it all down to what you're wanting. Like your elephant, you have to take off all the foam that's not the elephant," says Lone Star Parade Floats owner Clyde Watts.

How much work does that take? Watts estimates that a foam giraffe takes about 40 hours to carve and another 20 hours to decorate with glitter. He says his company buys "literally 2,000 pounds [of glitter] a year."
