The owners of Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen in downtown McKinney are opening a sandwich shop next door. Butcher Board is expected to have a small menu of 10 sandwiches and four sides.
Owners Johnny Carros and Chef Jon Thompson are also opening a Sugarbacon near Lakewood in Dallas, in place of the longtime, now shuttered Dixie House. (Sugarbacon's owners will not open a Butcher Board next-door to it in Lakewood, in case you were wondering.)
"Fresh, flavorful and uncomplicated" is how a statement describes Butcher Board's sandwiches, each served on Village Baking Co. bread. Employees will slice the meat for each sandwich from large cuts of smoked turkey, honey-glazed ham, roast beef, brisket and more.
"We are excited to open this in downtown McKinney as we hope to fill a much needed gap for sandwiches," Thompson says in a statement.
