Watch: Denton middle school teacher goes viral with clever 'Thrift Shop' parody

Some days, a feel-good story carries a bit more weight than others. Luckily, today we have just the feels you might be needing, in the form of a very cool middle school teacher with serious music video-making skills.

Denton ISD reading teacher Kelli Hauser, a.k.a. Lady Hauza, has a long tradition of upping student morale during standardized testing season with incredibly well-produced, inspirational parodies, and this year's STAAR motivation is no exception. Her rewritten version of the 2013 Macklemore hit "Thrift Shop" dropped Sunday and, as of this writing, it's already amassed more than 20,000 views on YouTube. This isn't Lady Hauza's first hit. Last year, she parodied Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" with "STAAR Test Funk," and in one year to the day it has 764,487 views.

Hauser's "Test Shop" cleverly replaces a majority of original's lyrics with upbeat test-taking tips and a healthy dose of belief in her students' abilities. The video includes plenty of nods to Macklemore's, like fur coats, Slurpees, scooters and couch hopping (she even created a side-by-side comparison of the two), but also includes a recent reference to Daniel and his white Vans.
