Pokemon are taking over Klyde Warren Park on Saturday for a 'Let's Go' event

Pokemon fans are used to going to the park lately, thanks to the mobile blockbuster Pokemon Go. On Saturday, Oct. 20, they can go to catch Pikachu at the park for a different reason: To play Nintendo's new Pokemon video game almost a month early.

The event, happening at Klyde Warren Park between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., is a party promoting Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee!, which will be released on the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 16. The games merge traditional Pokemon series gameplay with the more simplified creature catching mechanics of Pokemon Go.

In addition to getting an early sneak peak at the game, attendees can take part in "fun photo opportunities, special giveaways (while supplies last) ... [and] try out the Poke Ball Plus Accessory, a new controller compatible with the Nintendo Switch games that looks and feels just like a real Poke Ball."
