How to play 'Super Smash Bros. Ultimate' early in Dallas-Fort Worth

The end of the year is always packed with major video game releases (especially in the leadup to the holidays), but this year, few are as big as Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The popular crossover fighting game -- featuring a wide variety of Nintendo characters like Mario, Link and Kirby in addition to guest characters like Pac-Man and Sonic -- is slated to be one of the biggest hits for the Nintendo Switch. The problem? It doesn't come out until Dec. 7.

If you're in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, though, you can play it early.

Your first chance will be this weekend, Sept. 22-23, at the Best Buy off North Central Expressway in Dallas. The store will have demo stations running from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. You might have to wait in a line (like I said, it's a highly-anticipated release), but you'll get a chance to brawl with some of your favorite video game characters more than two months before the game comes out.

If you miss that event, you'll get another chance in Fort Worth on Oct. 20, where Nintendo will be bringing the fight to the tailgate during the Oklahoma vs. TCU game. They will be set up in a large, branded trailer with six stations for gameplay and a large TV that will showcase the action. at the Amon G. Carter Stadium (2850 Stadium Dr.) at TCU. Admission is free, but hours and exact location to come.
