Microsoft announces backwards compatibility, shows off 'Halo 5' and 'Gears of War 4' at E3

Update: The press conference is over, but I'll do my best to get an archived video of the whole thing up soon. You can re-read the liveblog below for all the announcements.

Original story: Of the three console makers, Microsoft is the company that's about to get the E3 ball rolling. Their press conference will begin at 11:30 a.m. (central time) and you can watch it live right here.

We can expect to see our first good look at Halo 5: Guardians as well as Rise of the Tomb Raider, which will be a timed exclusive on the Xbox One. Hopefully, though, we're also going to get a lot of surprises.

There's sure to be something Gears of War related, and maybe all the rumors about Battletoads are true?

If you can't watch the stream for any reason I'll also be blogging the announcements live. You can also chat with me in the same window, which you can find below.
