'Street Fighter' icon Ryu is now available in 'Super Smash Bros.'

Nintendo has announced a bunch of new content for its incredibly popular fighting game Super Smash Bros. (both for Wii U and 3DS), including a new characters and stages. The highlight? Ryu from Street Fighter, who makes his debut alongside returning Smash Bros. fighters Lucas from Mother (the game/series known as Earthbound here) and Roy from Fire Emblem.

The best part? All the new content is available right now.

The bummer? Most of this news (including Ryu) leaked out early, so the element of surprise was lost.

Still, Ryu's inclusion in the game is exciting, and it seems like Nintendo has done a lot of work to get his signature style and moves into Smash. And he's not the only representative of a classic fighting making an appearance today. Mii Fighter costumes from Virtua Fighter and Tekken are also available now, alongside costumes from Splatoon, Mega Man Battle Network and Animal Crossing.

Ryu comes with a Street Fighter II inspired stage can can be bought for $5.99 for either Wii U or 3DS, or for $6.99 for both versions.

Roy and Lucas are also both available for purchase right now. Each can be bought for $3.99 for one platform or $4.99 if you want them on both Wii U and 3DS.  The Mii Fighter costumes can be bought as a bundle for $9.20 or piecemeal for $0.75 to $1.15 each, while the Dreamland stage (a classic from the original N64 Smash Bros.) can be bought for $1.99 or $2.99 as a bundle.

If all of that is confusing and you just want everything, you can buy it all as a bundle for $29.16 across both Wii U and 3DS, or $21.96 if you just want it all for one version.

If you don't want to buy anything, Nintendo is giving everybody a free Miiverse stage on the Wii U, in which players' Miiverse posts will appear as you play (provided you're connected to the Internet).

Nintendo also announced a new wave of amiibo coming in September, which will include R.O.B. the robot, Duck Hunt and Mr. Game and Watch. Eventually there will also be amiibo for the new downloadable characters, including Ryu and Lucas.

Nintendo's going to have a lot more game announcements over the next few days as the Electronic Entertainment Expo kicks off in LA, but for now, I think I'm going to go Hadoken some folks.
