'Fallout 4' is (finally) official; here's the first trailer

Fallout 4, a game at the top of many people's gaming wish lists, has finally be confirmed by Bethesda Softworks. It's in development now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, though no release date has been given.

They made the announcement with the game's first official trailer, which Bethesda says was created in-game. The first gameplay demonstration will take place at Bethesda's E3 showcase on June 14.

"We know what this game means to everyone," Game Director Todd Howard, said in a press release. "The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever. We've never been more excited about a game, and we can't wait to share it."

The last Fallout game, Fallout: New Vegas, was released in 2010. It was preceded by Fallout 3, which was released in 2008 and was a big success both critically and commercially. The game won multiple game of the year awards.

Presumably, Bethesda Game Studios has been working on Fallout 4 since around the release of their last game, 2011's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
