These are the free Xbox Live Games With Gold for March

If you're an Xbox Live Gold member, you can look forward to three very good games downloadable for free as part of your subscription in March, Microsoft revealed today. Previous months have been a bit hit-or-miss with Microsoft's offerings, but each of next month's titles are well worth the download on your Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Microsoft also says that, collectively, Xbox Live users have downloaded more than 100 million free games, and to celebrate that milestone they intend to give away even more games for the month of April: Four games on the Xbox 360 and two games on the Xbox One. They didn't really hint at what those games will be, though.

Rayman Legends (Xbox One) - One of the better 2D platform games in recent history, Rayman Legends is a gorgeous game that's fun whether you play alone or with some friends. The Xbox One version of the game misses out on some of the touch-screen functionality you'll find on the Wii U version (from back when the was supposed to be an exclusive for Nintendo), and there are a few less-than-perfect stages as a result, but it's still a highly entertaining experience.

Or with:

Tomb Raider (Xbox 360) - This Tomb Raider origin story marked the point when I became a big fan of Lara Croft. I had played the older games but was never really in love with the series. Tomb Raider changed that, and now I can't wait for the upcoming (and notably Xbox-exclusive, at least at launch) sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Read the full review here.

Bioshock Infinite (Xbox 360) - I loved Bioshock Infinite. I enjoyed its combat, I found its world fascinating and I thought its religion-centric story was interesting and well told - even if it got a lot of stuff wrong about Christianity/baptism. Some people will disagree with every word of that praise, but "free" is a really great price to try what I think is a worthy successor to one of last generation's best shooters. Read the full review here.
