You still have time to get a photo with ‘Game of Thrones’ throne at AT&T HQ

Fans of HBO's massively popular series can still take photos on the throne in AT&T's downtown Dallas headquarters through April 24.

Updated April 16 with new date for the Throne's availability and info on Game of Thrones game.

Winter is finally here, and so is the Iron Throne.

Game of Thrones fans hanging around downtown Dallas have the chance to take what is theirs, for Instagram at least: A replica Iron Throne dominates the lobby of AT&T's corporate headquarters on 208 S Akard St. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, you can rule the realm — err, snap a picture on it.

AT&T, which recently acquired HBO's parent company Time Warner, says the world's pointiest chair arrived at the beginning of this year to promote the final season of Thrones, which began this past Sunday. The Throne will remain in the lobby through next Wednesday, April 24.

Why did AT&T's headquarters snag the seat of Westerosi power? "The dragons were busy. So we brought the next best thing," a spokeswoman for AT&T said. "We're excited for fans to experience a piece of King's Landing in Dallas."

You'll have to walk past some construction to reach the lobby.

This isn't the only way AT&T has sought new ways for fans to experience Thrones. GuideLive was recently able to test a Thrones-themed virtual reality game on a new headset by Magic Leap, a partner of AT&T's. In the immersive game "The Dead Must Die," players have to try to kill a wight and a White Walker bent on their destruction. As of this writing, the new Magic Leap device isn't available for testing in stores -- it and the Thrones game were recently open for demos in some AT&T flagship stores ahead of the season premiere -- but AT&T expects it to be available for those interested in Dallas in the near future.

In the meantime, there's still an Iron Throne hanging around for your picture plans, and AT&T reps say cosplay within reason is welcome.

So grab your goblet, bring your Unsullied and unleash your inner Khaleesi. I did.
