'And then there were 5': Chip Gaines' tweet announces new addition to 'Fixer Upper' family

Chip Gaines has posted a tweet saying the family's new baby, a boy, was born Saturday morning with 10 fingers and toes, and mother Joanna is doing well.

That makes five children for Waco's entrepreneurial couple who had built up a home remodeling and retail business before they became HGTV stars with their hit Fixer Upper.

The Gaineses announced they were having a fifth child around the time they said the fifth season of Fixer Upper would be their last.

A message from the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce was among the many congratulatory replies. That's because while the couple was responsible for soaring HGTV ratings in the last four years, they're also responsible for some of the Central Texas town's recent growth.

They haven't stopped expanding their business empire in Waco, where they now employ more than 500 people and have resurrected downtown Waco with their Magnolia Market at the Silos development.

The new baby boy 's grandparents live in the Dallas area. Chip Gaines was raised in Colleyville.
