Dream of staying overnight at Southfork? The Ewings' 'Dallas' home is taking reservations — for one night only

Pour a glass of bourbon and brace yourself. On April 2, four superfans of TV's Dallas will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to "live like a Ewing" by bunking down at Southfork Ranch in North Texas.

Stop looking for Bobby in the shower. It's not a dream.

The one night -- "and one night only," a statement emphasizes -- accommodation is made possible by Booking.com's new Book the U.S. list, which grants travelers rare opportunities to stay overnight in "unique properties ... that go beyond the traditional hotel," the statement says.

Other properties on the list, which are bookable more often, include historic caboose cars once part of the Pennsylvania Railroad, a man-made cave built 70 feet below ground in New Mexico, a secluded treehouse in Ohio and a 100-plus year old lighthouse in Massachusetts.

Here's a map where you can browse the properties in all 50 states.

The booking at Southfork celebrates the cult prime-time drama's 40th anniversary.

The 'Live Like a Ewing' package includes accommodations for four in two bedrooms, plus a private tour of "The World's Most Famous Ranch," popcorn and snacks during a screening of seasons 1 and 2 and a patio breakfast on the original glass table where the Ewings posed, plotted and dined.

The rare booking opportunity will set you back $1,978. First come, first served.

The famous Dallas ranch (which is, notably, not in Dallas; it's in Parker) provided exterior shots during the television show's original 13-year run and its 2012 reboot.

The original show made history on Nov. 21, 1980, when more than half of American television viewers tuned in for answers to the previous season's infamous "Who Shot J.R." cliffhanger. Worldwide syndication solidified the prime time soap's popularity around the globe.

The reboot lasted a mere three seasons, despite an ardent fanbase's attempt to #savedallas; it seems the show never fully recovered following the death of eternally-beloved bad guy J.R. Ewing -- and his lauded real-life counterpart Larry Hagman -- in 2012.

And here's a fun fact: The ranch in Parker wasn't the first and only setting known as the Ewing's Southfork. Former Dallas News writer Alan Peppard wrote extensively about the show's local history.

If you can't drop nearly $2,000 on a stay at Southfork (or can, but are previously engaged on April 2), that doesn't mean your Dallas dreams are forever dashed. In honor of the show's 40th anniversary, tickets are on-sale for the two-day fan fest, which includes ranch tours and meet-and-greets with Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and more at Southfork on Friday and a ritzy evening of reminiscence at Dallas' Longhorn Ballroom on Saturday.

And, you can always saddle up for a horseback ride at Southfork. That package includes a trail ride (with a horseback education session), plus a private tour and deli lunch. Its cost ranges from $125-295, depending on group size.

If you're into glamorous, one-of-a-kind experiences, here are others outside of Dallas:

Booking.com has released three other exclusive experiences in conjunction with the release of its Book the U.S. list. These are available for booking on March 7-8 only:
