Updated Jan. 4 at 4:18 p.m.: The Jan. 6 date for Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show has been postponed due to the star's "serious bout with the flu." The show is now scheduled for Feb. 2. In an email to ticketholders, "The Arlington Music Hall is offering a full refund to its customers, if you choose not to attend the Feb. 2nd performance."

Vicki Lawrence is not done.

Already on the list of comedy icons, she's popping up this year in some hot properties. There is her guest-starring turn on Great News. And there's recent news that she'll co-star in The Cool Kids, a pilot for Fox.

Audiences may not have seen her name in credits for a while before that. She was busy. There was the 50th anniversary of the seminal Carol Burnett Show

She was just a senior in high school when she joined the show, playing against established comedy all-stars.

"I like to say I went to the Harvard school of comedy," she says.

She also did the commentary tracks for -- finally -- the release of Mama's Family on DVD. And she is the face of "CIU & You," a campaign to raise awareness about chronic idiopathic urticaria. The illness, a form of chronic hives, "impacts approximately 1.5 million people in the U.S.," according to the campaign website.

And -- here's where you'll sit up and take notice -- she's constantly on the road with "Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two Woman Show." The tour will come to Arlington Music Hall (224 N. Center St.) on Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

Mama goes topical, taking on current events and old comfortable shoes. Lawrence brings herself, and some songs. Hopefully, that will include gold record "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia."

"More like a one-hit wonder," she insists when her singing career is mentioned.

Never one to sit on her laurels, she wants to be even busier.

"Tell Tyler Perry to call me," she says.

A meeting of Mama and Madea? Well, that would be something.
