Did you see Black Thought talking about his epic freestyle rap on 'Jimmy Fallon'?

It's not every day that a late-night talk show gets to interview one of his own band members off a hot story.

ICYMI, that's exactly what happened after Black Thought, who raps with the legendary Roots crew, rushed the internet after his blistering 10-minute freestyle on Funkmaster Flex's show on New York City's Hot 97.

The Roots famously signed on to be the house band in 2009 for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and made the transition with him in 2014 when he took over The Tonight Show.

Fallon greeted the rapper born Tariq Trotter by saying that it's good to have him on that side of the desk. He later presented Trotter with a printout of his entire freestyle, which resembled Santa's list more than lyrics.

You see, what had happened was that Black Thought's freestyle still somehow seemed not long enough; he basically made the case that some have maintained for years that he should be in anyone's Top 5. And Twitter was there for every bar (except for those who saw #BlackThought trending and thought it was racial, and reacted, well, let's just say they took it the wrong way). The video of the performance has more than 1 million views.

Superstar Twitter was there for it, too.

"It's super meaningful for a rapper to get that platform," Trotter said about Flex's show. Opening minds is what he does, but he has other irons in the fire, too; he and The Roots are busy with some TV shows in the works, including one that will be on AMC that's based on bestseller The Rap Yearbook.

Then, at Fallon's request, Black Thought ripped another freestyle, ending with the line: "15 minutes of fame isn't enough for me."

He's not wrong.
