Country star Luke Bryan, pop icon Lionel Richie become judges for 'American Idol' reboot

"Hello." Was it them you're looking for?

Lionel Richie will join in the fun on the rebooted American Idol. He and Luke Bryan have been announced as judges for the next round of the show.

The superstar duo will join another superstar, Katy Perry, to round out the judges' table for the new season of the show now on ABC.

Bryan is currently on his annual Farm Tour that supports community scholarships. He has a new album that is scheduled to come out later this year. The Southwest Georgia native has won the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association entertainer of the year awards and has hosted the ACM Awards five times.

Richie  is a singer, a songwriter and record producer and is responsible for indelible hits "Three Times a Lady" with the Commodores; charity single "We Are the World," written with Michael Jackson; and "Endless Love." He holds four Grammy Awards, an Oscar, a Golden Globe and was a Kennedy Center Honoree this year.

The entire judges' panel will say hello on Good Morning America on Oct. 4.
