Viewers will get to see Teresa Mendoza continue seeking her crown after USA Network renewed Queen of the South for a third season.
With just a few more episodes left to air in its second season, Queen of the South has held steady in ratings all summer.
The series is shot at South Side Studios on Lamar Street in Dallas.
Queen of the South is based on the novel La Reina del Sur by Arturo Perez-Reverte. It was earlier adapted into a popular telenovela starring Kate del Castillo (Netflix's Ingobernable) for Telemundo.
Mendoza (Alice Braga) flees to America after the death of her drug-dealing boyfriend and ends up right back in the line of fire. Adapt or die becomes her way of life. In the second season, she's allied with Camila Vargas (Veronica Falcon), the estranged wife and rival drug dealer of Don Epifanio Vargas (Joaquim de Almeida), the man who upended her life.
The first season is available on Netflix.
Queen of the South airs Thursday nights at 9 on USA Network. The season finale is scheduled for Aug. 31.
