'Reverie,' starring D-FW actress Sarah Shahi, gets full season at NBC

Euless-born Sarah Shahi, known for her role in Person of Interest and various other TV projects, will star in the new NBC series Reverie during the 2017-2018 season. The series pickup was announced by the network on Friday.

Reverie is a thriller that follows Mara (Shahi), "a former hostage negotiator and expert on human behavior" who is tasked with helping save people who have lost themselves in a virtual reality game "in which you can literally live in your dreams."

Sounds interesting enough, though the NBC description ends by saying, "she finds that in saving others, she may actually have discovered a way to save herself," which is all kinds of cheesy.

Shahi went to college at Southern Methodist University and was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for the '99-'00 season. Last year, she starred in the pilot for a Nancy Drew series being considered at CBS, but it did not get picked up by the network.
