'The Magic School Bus' is coming back with Kate McKinnon providing the lead voice

Seatbelts, everyone!

The Magic School Bus, the beloved book series turned PBS cartoon hit, is making a comeback. This time around, Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon will be taking the driver's seat as the voice of Ms. Frizzle. (Lily Tomlin did the voice in the original '90s series.)

Netflix is helming the adaptation, which was originally announced back in 2014 as The Magic School Bus 360°. Reports then said that the series would use computer-generated animation and would contain 26 half-hour episodes. No word yet on if any of that has changed.

The series revolves around a group of elementary school children and their teacher, Ms. Frizzle (aka "The Frizz"), who takes her class on various fantastical adventures with her titular magic school bus. These adventures included trips to outer space and inside the intestines of a sick student, teaching lessons along the way.

There is no announced release date for the reboot, but the entirety of the original series is conveniently already streaming on Netflix.

Netflix is no stranger to going after nostalgic PBS viewers. The trailer for Bill Nye Saves the World also just debuted.
