Season premieres kick off in earnest this week with slow 'Pitch,' fast 'Empire' and others

This week, the season premieres come fast and furious.

Most of the week is what it is, thus a description should suffice. But the others?

I love it when a movie teaches as it entertains. So it is with this story about Newt Knight (Matthew McConaughey), a Mississippi farmer working alongside slave in a fight to secede from the Confederacy.
