Here's how to celebrate the Fourth of July this year without leaving your couch

Fireworks can be a wonder to behold.

They can also be smoky and scary if little ones are running to and fro -- or just if you're being overcome by the temperatures. There is an entire hub devoted to what you can do outside this holiday. But, this ... this is a list for those who don't want to even smell the outside and who prefer fireworks with a remote and a well-stocked refrigerator at their fingertips.

But first, let's stoke the home fire(works).

The Fair Park Fourth celebration, thrilling in person, will get the parade treatment when WFAA (Ch. 8) airs it at 9 p.m. July 4. Anchors Cynthia Izaguirre and Joe Trahan will host from the Cotton Bowl, which will be open for those who want to get up close and personal with the sis-boom-bah. Ch. 8 reporter Lauren Zakalik will also cover the event.
