It lives! CMT picks up canceled 'Nashville' for a fifth season

The dearly beloved Nashville has found a home away from home, according to several reports.

CMT announced Friday that it had picked up the country music drama to air on the network. The show was surprisingly canceled by ABC during a bloody cancellation period in May that also saw the demise of fan favorites Agent Carter and Castle.

There had been rumors that producers were in negotiations to keep the series going. For many, those rumors were bolstered when the show's final episode ended with a cliffhanger.
