Can you stomach 20 scoops of ice cream? Dallas shop Hypnotic Emporium dares you

A Dallas ice cream shop is offering the sundae of a lifetime to anyone with a big enough sweet-tooth and tough enough stomach. And yes, that is a challenge.

Hypnotic Emporium, the sister shop to the beloved Hypnotic Donuts in East Dallas, is rolling out a new eating challenge and the thought of it may make you feel lactose intolerant.

The Mt. Hypnotic, as it's called, is a daunting 20 scoops of ice cream topped with whipped cream, hot fudge, caramel, Sixlets candy, peanuts, two Charleston Chew chocolate bars and a doughnut.

Hypnotic Emporium owner James St. Peter says the idea for the eating challenge struck him in the most unlikely of places: Michael's craft shop.

"I saw the giant margarita glass and said, 'Who on Earth would need something like that?'" he says. "And then I thought, 'I would!'"

The Mt. Hypnotic is new to the menu, but walk-in challengers are welcome. So far the only person to give it a shot was an employee named Chris, who threw in the towel before devouring the whole thing.

St. Peter says he considering letting teams of two people attempt the 30-minute challenge, but because of better odds for success, the cost of losing would be hiked to $80.
