LUCK's doughnut craft beer pairing back by popular demand this Sunday

Who knew craft beer and artisan doughnuts were a match made in heaven?

The owners of LUCK in Trinity Groves had an idea, but even they were surprised last Sunday when so many people showed up for a scheduled beer and doughnut pairing that they sold out of product in 17 minutes. Yep, 17 minutes.

The restaurant's patio was full half an hour before the doors opened, according to co-owner Jeff Dietzman, which means those who showed up at 11 a.m. were put on a waiting list. Many also missed the pairing, a flight of four mini beers and mini doughnuts.

If you were one of those people, here's good news: LUCK will be hosting a second edition of the doughnut and craft beer pairing this Sunday, April 5. Dietzman said there will be 100 flights (twice the number last weekend) available for $16 each. He's also doubling the available staff to help things run smoothly.

The beer and doughnut lineup on Easter Sunday will be similar to last weekend:

  • Saigon Cinnamon doughnut with a strong blonde ale from Martin House Brewing Co.;
  • Macadamia Toasted Coconut doughnut with a southwest pale ale from Revolver Brewing;
  • Chocolate Cherry Bomb doughnut with an imperial wildflower honey ale from Bearded Eel Craft Brewery;
  • Salted Caramel Old Fashioned doughnut with a milk stout from 903 Brewers.

All the beers are produced by local microbreweries. LUCK doesn't take reservations, so it's first come, first served while supplies last. Dietzman plans to host similar pairings at least once a month and rotate the offerings, meaning this may not be your last chance to indulge.
