Grand Prairie Farmers Market will host an Ice Cream Charity Challenge starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Local charities and organizations will go head-to-head to see who has the best homemade ice cream recipe in order to be crowned the champion and win money for their charity. Tickets to sample all charities homemade ice cream and vote for your favorite will be on sale for a minimal fee.

The farmers market is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays from April through mid-December and features locally grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, tamales, salsas, dips, relishes, eggs, honey, chips, plants, soaps, candles and more.
