Peter Murphy at Granada Theater

The British band Bauhaus didn’t make much of a commercial dent before it broke up in 1983, yet its haunting songs effectively launched the goth rock movement. More than 35 years later, lead singer Peter Murphy has teamed up with Bauhaus bassist David J for a tour full of their old group’s music. The show begins with a start-to-end rendition of the band’s 1980 debut, In the Flat Field, and ends with a set full of classics like “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” “Burning from the Inside” and “Ziggy Stardust,” the David Bowie song Bauhaus recorded in 1982. Let’s hope Murphy doesn’t pull a Ziggy and take it all too far, as he apparently did in December, when he got ejected from his own show in Stockholm after reportedly throwing a bottle at the audience. The London psychedelic rock band Desert Mountain Tribe opens the Dallas concert.
