Experience India’s cultural and spiritual heritage at Klyde Warren Park. The Festival of Joy – also known as the Festival of Chariots or Ratha Yatra – has roots in ancient India but is celebrated in major cities around the globe. The event includes a parade procession as well as live performances of traditional Indian songs, dancing and storytelling. The parade procession begins at the Dallas Museum of Art at 11 a.m., runs through the Arts District and concludes in Klyde Warren Park at noon. Guests will be able to taste authentic Indian food and learn more about Indian customs through activities like trying on saris, getting henna tattoos, observing the benefits of meditation and making themed craft projects.
