This event has already happened

Whether you’re an amateur angler or a well-seasoned fisherman, Tarrant Regional Water District’s annual festival is the premier event in fly fishing. TRWD will release nearly 3,000 native Texas fish into the Trinity River’s Clear Fork. Throughout the day there will be expert-led presentations on a range of topics, fly-tying lessons, casting classes and cooking demos. Compete against fellow fishing enthusiasts in accuracy, distance or the “big trout” contest, which awards a grand prize in two categories – biggest trout caught and most fish caught. Enjoy craft beer, wine, food trucks and live music, plus kid-friendly activities like face painting and rock-climbing. Both bait and fly anglers are welcome to bring their own rods and reels for open fishing on the river.

Fishing license required for some activities; check website for details.
