Shannon Sutlief Recommends

This annual festival highlighting North Texas’ growing South Asian community will feature more than a dozen features, shorts and documentaries, some accompanied by actor and director appearances. Stories of big dreams, small communities, fitting in, rebelling against, and love and loss will fill theater screens over three days. The lineup includes special-interest programming, including family films on Feb. 11 and a block of LGBTQ stories on Feb. 10.

The 4th annual South Asian film festival will feature screenings of shorts, docs and features at the AMC Village on the Parkway 9, with post-screening Q&As with filmmakers and after parties at nearby venues.

Among this year's selections are Abu, Babylon Sisters, Bhasmasur Chumbah, Love and Shukla, and the closing night feature Chumbak - The Film. Check the website for the full schedule.
