This festival has a reputation for good — and free — live music, and this year’s lineup will include country (Josh Turner, Wade Bowen and Micky and the Motorcars), Texas Tejano (La Mafia, Tejas Brothers and Monica Saldivar), soul (Kirk Thurmond and the Millennials) and more. The three-day fest will also have carnival rides, a kids’ area with family-friendly activities, a food court, beer gardens, arts and crafts and other vendors, a farmers market and performances by ZuZu African Acrobats. On April 20, get an all-you-can-ride carnival pass for $15 per person. On April 21-22, pay per ride.

The 7th annual Main Street Fest celebrates the fun, festive, family atmosphere of Grand Prairie with three nights of live music, spectacular novelty shows, carnival rides, arts & crafts, a business expo, food and beer gardens, the Earth Day KidZone and more. The music lineup is a mix of country, Red Dirt country, rock and conjunto music, with headliners Wade Bowen (9 p.m. on Friday), Josh Turner (10 p.m., Saturday) and La Mafia (6:30 p.m. Sunday). Go here for a complete music and entertainment lineup.

Admission to Main Street Fest is free. There is a fee for some activities.
