Kraig Parker: The King Lives! Elvis Birthday Celebration at Irving Arts Center
Brentney Hamilton Recommends
The King lives … in North Texas. At least, that’s where Elvis Presley tribute artist Kraig Parker resides when he’s not traveling the world in a white, rhinestone encrusted jumpsuit. For nearly 20 years, Parker has presided over audiences in the spirit of 1970s-era Elvis. He travels with a 10-piece Royal Tribute Band, an elaborate musical shebang featuring horns, backup vocals and rock-n-roll soul. On Jan. 6, they will perform the hits in celebration of what would have been the late icon’s 83rd birthday (Jan. 8). Special guest Charles Stone, who produced Elvis’ tour from 1970-1977 and who manages Parker today, will introduce the show.
