Chinese New Year Festival (UPDATED)

Feb 17, 2018 - Feb 16, 2018

UPDATE: Due to projected weather on Feb. 17, all activities are being moved from Klyde Warren Park to NorthPark Center. Further event updates will be added as they are announced.

Say farewell to the year of the rooster and kick off the year of the dog at the Crow Collection's Chinese New Year Festival. The annual event is expanding this year, offering even more festivities in two new locations; NorthPark Center and Klyde Warren Park.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., NorthPark Center will feature retailer specials and giveaways, as well as art activities like Chinese-lantern making. Enjoy a performance by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra ensemble, marvel at Chinese-inspired landscape displays and take a guided tour of a special exhibition showcasing works by artist Master Shen-Long.

From 2 to 8 p.m., head to Klyde Warren Park for lion and dragon dances, a Bian lian face changing performance, family-friendly kung fu and tai chi, red-envelope decorating crafts and paper-cutting demos. Snack on traditional noodle dishes, along with an assortment of Asian fare offered at street-side food trucks. Since it is the year of the pooch, there will also be activities for your canine companion. Those looking to welcome a new furry friend to the family can find adoptable pups from several D-FW animal rescues at the “Zodiac Zoo.” Stick around for the fireworks finale at 8 p.m.
