Featuring more than 100 floats, giant balloons, and half-a-million lights, Fort Worth’s signature event of the season will bring the holiday spirit to thousands of North Texans. Additionally, the 1.59-mile parade route will be lined with decorated horse-drawn carriages, antique cars, festive marching bands, strolling carolers and a special finale appearance from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The 2018 GM Financial Parade of Lights will travel down a new parade route this year, and will officially start on Weatherford Street at 6 p.m. The parade will proceed east along Weatherford Street, and turn south on Commerce Street to 9th Street. At 9th Street, the parade will turn west, and then turn north on Houston Street until it reaches 2nd Street. At 2nd Street, the parade will proceed west to Throckmorton Street. At Throckmorton Street, the parade will turn south and conclude at 3rd Street. Due to the new parade route, there will be no parade viewing on Houston Street between Weatherford and 2nd Streets, or on Weatherford Street between Henderson and Throckmorton Streets.

While the parade is free to attend, participants can purchase reserved “Street Seats” online in advance, starting at $12.95.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., before the parade start, Cowboy Santas will journey around the parade route to collect unwrapped toys to donate to children in need.
