Part of Autumn at the Arboretum — which includes a Peter Pan-themed display made from 90,000 gourds and 150,000 fall blooming plants — this weekend of special events includes face-painting and a petting zoo in the garden, plus live music, cooking demonstrations and free wine and beer samples for adults over 21 on Oct. 6-8. On Oct. 8, Columbus Day, children's singer-songwriter Eddie Coker will perform at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and there will be a bubble performer from noon to 2 p.m. Throughout the weekend, you can get discounts by taking a pumpkin carved with your college logo ($2 off admission) or by wearing a school football jersey ($5 off parking).

Autumn at the Arboretum is in full swing during the Columbus Day weekend with special family fun activities happening Saturday through Monday, Oct. 5-8. Bring the family for face painting and a petting zoo each day in the garden. Enjoy live music and free wine samplings. Listen to the talented Eddie Coker, sponsored by DallasChild, perform on Columbus Day. Discover tasty vendors while enjoying the fall weather.

Children age 2-12 are $10. Children under 2 are free.
