Being full of hot air is a good thing at this annual three-day spectacle in Plano. Forty festive hot air balloons will launch over the weekend (some even glow in the dark), and a parachute team will careen through the skies daily at 5:30 p.m. There will be live music by cover bands DownTown Fever on Sept. 21 and Good Question Band on Sept. 22 and a fireworks extravaganza will light up the sky on Sept. 22. Children can play on inflatable rides, in an obstacle course and on a pirate ship in the Kids Fun Zone (which also features a special section for toddlers), and the whole family can enjoy a community stage with local dance troupes and martial arts teams performing throughout the weekend.

UPDATE: Due to severe flooding at Oak Point Park and the threat of additional rain throughout the day the festival has been cancelled for the weekend.
Colorful hot air balloons will fly high above Oak Point Park during the three-day InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival. Have your camera ready as the balloons lift off in a mass ascension each evening and early morning. This year, tethered rides will be offered (at the pilots' discretion). The Texas Paracute team will perform daily at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy live music, food, fireworks, kids activities, carnival rides and more.

Balloons launch Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. (weather permitting).

General admission is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 65+ and for children 3 to 12 years old. Free shuttle from the DART Parker Road Station runs continously during festival hours.
