The traditional Fort Worth celebration has a few changes for 2017, including a new festival location. The event kicks off with a 5k/1 mile Run & Walk at 8 a.m. A community parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. from the parking lot of the Super 1 Food Store, 6701 Forest Hill Drive, and ends at the TCC South Campus parking lot.

Festival fun starts at 11 a.m. with live entertainment; R&B, hip hop and jazz concerts; an "Empowering You" event; and Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant. There will also be a car show, kids zone, BBQ cook-off, carnival and midway, food vendors, rodeo, basketball, and youth art show.
