Dallas Summer Musicals is a nonprofit organization committed to education, which led us to begin the awards program patterned after Broadway’s Tony Awards®. DSM High School Musical Theatre Awards brings stars, community celebrities, show business veterans and Dallas leaders together for an evening of celebration.

We put the spotlight on the educational achievements of high school students and their high school musical theatre programs. Nominees arrive on the red carpet before entering the Music Hall at Fair Park. The award show begins with our opening number featuring students nominated for Best Actor & Actress, Best Supporting Actor & Actress, and Best Featured Actor & Actress. The show ends with 2 representatives from each participating high school together on stage. Between the opening downbeat and the final curtain, we present 16 awards and 8 Best Musical Nominee performances. In addition, we award several university scholarships to outstanding high school seniors.
