All the Details

Building on the success of the past three years, Lemonade Day Greater Dallas organizers are holding the Best Tasting Lemonade Contest on Saturday, April 29, at NorthPark Center. There will be 10 stands in NorthCourt, located on Level One between Nordstrom and Macy’s, and set up begins at 1:00PM. From that point, there will be the “People’s Choice” voting, which is where patrons at NorthPark can vote after sampling their favorite lemonade. At 3:00 the celebrity judging portion will begin. The judges visit with the contestants, sample the lemonade and then make their decisions. The event is wrapped up by 4:00 when the winners are announced.

This event – which features Dallas-area kids serving their own lemonade recipes – serves as a preview to the fourth annual Lemonade Day, which takes place May 6 throughout Dallas. April is also “Financial Literacy Month,” recognizing the need for our children to achieve better financial literacy skills.

Lemonade Day is a FREE community-wide educational program designed to teach youth how to start, own and operate their own business: a lemonade stand. Everyone knows the old saying “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” With Lemonade Day, students use lemonade stands as a launch pad for their future success in life and business. Lemonade Day allows children to receive the following information that can be utilized in the future: learning how to create a budget, set profit-making goals, serve customers, repay investors, give back to the community, acquire goal setting, problem solve, and gain self-esteem critical for future success.
