Don Henley - 70th Birthday Celebration at American Airlines Center
Thor Christensen Recommends
Dallas-based Eagles legend Don Henley sang a lot about aging on his last solo album, Cass County, so it’s only fitting that he’s throwing himself one hell of a 70th birthday bash for hometown fans Saturday night at the AAC. In addition to his regular solo band — which includes Dallas guitarist Chris Holt — Henley’s put together a star-studded lineup including Eagles mates Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit and his duet partners Stevie Nicks (1981’s “Leather and Lace”) and Patty Smyth (1992’s “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough”). Part of the proceeds will benefit Henley’s nonprofit Caddo Lake Institute, which is dedicated to conserving the sprawling natural lake located not far from the singer’s East Texas hometown of Linden.
