Dallas Festival of Ideas (UPDATED)

Apr 29, 2017 - Apr 28, 2017

UPDATE: With the forecast of a Texas thunderstorm, Saturday's Dallas Festival of Ideas will now take place in Section A of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The event had been scheduled outdoors at Dallas City Hall Plaza, until the probability of rain forced the change. Read more about the changes here. Free shuttles will take people to and from the Festival of Ideas at the convention center to the Dallas Book Festival happening down the street.
Equity is the theme for the 3rd annual Dallas Festival of Ideas, a partnership between the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture and The Dallas Morning News. This year, the Festival has partnered with the Dallas Book Festival. Events will be held at City Hall Plaza and the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in Dallas. The free, day-long festival on April 29 features Yaa Gyasi (the novel Homegoing) and Andrew Solomon (The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression).

5:45 to 7:30 p.m. -- Free concert by The Polyphonic Spree on City Hall Plaza: Grab something good from the food trucks, concessions, and beer garden to enjoy during the concert or over conversations about the day's events.
