Duran Duran at Music Hall at Fair Park
Darryl Smyers Recommends
Not many would have figured that Duran Duran would still be a force four decades after debuting during the golden era of new wave in 1978. Yet Simon Le Bon and crew are still plugging away at such radio-friendly ‘80s chestnuts as “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Rio” and “The Reflex.” Time has been kind to these hits as Le Bon’s haunting croon has become somewhat of a touchstone for poppy acts looking to stick out but still make it to the bank. Like the music, the fashionable members of Duran Duran have held up well. Still theatrical — and cheesy and quite danceable, too — Duran Duran’s is music made for reminiscing about your high school days.
