D-FW is full of phenomenal places to enjoy the great outdoors, but even the most beautiful and best-kept spots can get a little ... well, you know, boring if you run them several times per week. If you're looking for a wild (yes, I went there) experience, the Fort Worth Zoo's annual 5K and fun run offer an opportunity to take in new scenery and support wildlife conservation. After all, runners are a rare breed; some might even say they belong in the zoo...

Take a run – or walk – on the wild side at the 20th annual Zoo Run, presented by Ideal Partners, on Saturday, April 1. This family-friendly event supports the Zoo’s extensive wildlife conservation and education efforts locally and around the world. Zoo Run includes a timed 5K and 5K Fun Run as well as a 1K Fun Run. The races will take place on a USA Track and Field-certified course along the Zoo’s main pathway and throughout the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods. So you can’t run as fast as a cheetah, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress the part! Runners are invited to dress up like their favorite Zoo animal. Adults must keep their faces visible and all runners must wear their bibs on the outside of their costumes.
