Harambee is an African Swahili name that means "let's pull together." The community festival brought families together for safe activities. It has become an event for children and families of all cultures. Children are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes. Other activities will include vendors, stage entertainment, a children's entertainment area, free treat bags for children ages 13 and younger, and free hot dogs, chips and soft drinks for the public. Contributors and co-sponsors include "K104" KKDA-FM (104.5), "Heaven 97" KHVN-AM (970), Citizens Committee to Save Our Children, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. --Norma Adams-Wade/The Dallas Morning News
