Denton’s country-rocking Eli Young Band still plays nightclubs and small halls, but it’s no stranger to big stages either. The guys have played football stadiums opening for Kenny Chesney and headlined their own “house party” for some 18,000 fans at Globe Life Park in Arlington. They’ll split the difference on New Year’s Eve and play the 6,000-capacity Billy Bob’s with a set featuring songs from their upcoming, untitled fifth album. “Saltwater Gospel,” the first single from the disc, is an earworm anthem about skipping church in favor of wading in the ocean. Green River Ordinance opens the show with tunes from its latest work, Fifteen, a nod to how many years the Fort Worth band has been together.
