Now in its 36th year, the free, family-friendly Denton Arts and Jazz Festival puts the best of the town's talents on display. Between the University of North Texas' music program and Denton's creative community, there's more than enough ear candy. You may not find too many big-name performers here, but you're sure to discover gems walking through the event's six stages in downtown. Aaron Neville, of the funk family the Neville Brothers, headlines April 29 (9 p.m.), and beloved local polka band Brave Combo headlines April 30 (7 p.m.).

The Denton Arts and Jazz Festival is a celebration of the arts in a community known for embracing and nurturing music, dance, drama and the visual arts. Held the last full weekend in April at Denton’s Quakertown Park, the event features 7 stages of continuous professional and community music, fine art, crafts, and food, games and information booths in a beautiful setting.
