It's that time of the month again -- the Cedar Springs wine walk happens on the first Wednesday of every month. This fundraiser benefits the Cedar Springs Merchant Association and helps improve security in the neighborhood.

Here's how it works: There will be a booth in front of the Round-up Saloon where they sell $10 wine glasses that can be refilled at about 20 businesses along Cedar Springs Road.

The wine walk starts at 6 p.m. and runs through 9 p.m. The Round-up Saloon will raffle off gift baskets from local merchants at 9:15 p.m. in the karaoke parlor.

Pro-tips:
  • Make sure to bring some cash so you can tip participating merchants (particularly if they are bars.)
  • Do not feel pressured to make it to all 20 merchants -- this is a wine walk, not a sprint.
  • Be wary of ordering extra drinks (or shots) during the wine walk -- this is usually a poor life choice.
  • You have to be present at the 9:15 p.m. raffle to win, so give yourself time to make it back to the Round-up Saloon.
  • Be sure to take a cab if everyone in your group wants to participate in the wine walk.
  • Some of the boutiques will let you pick-up purchases the next day if you don't want to carry shopping bags during the entire event.
