Selena, Texas-born 'Queen of Tejano,' to get star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Quintinilla's sister Suzette and actress Eva Longorio are expected to attend the Nov. 3 ceremony

Selena Quintanilla, the Texas-born Tejano legend and beloved Latino icon, is getting her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

According to Variety, the posthumous honor will be bestowed at Hollywood's Capitol Records in a Nov. 3 ceremony.  Actress Eva Longoria, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Quintanilla's sister Suzette are expected to attend.

The celebrated Mexican-American star, who began her musical career in Corpus Christi, was fatally shot in 1995 by her fan club's former president. She was barely 23.
